The most influential teachers throughout her career have been Petra Wolf (Berlin), Christina Wennekamp (Berlin/ Essen), Lisa Pescia (Los Angeles), Sandra De Sousa (Los Angeles/ London) and Bernard Hiller (Los Angeles & international Masterclasses).

Marei also received classical voice training for six years, plays the piano and the clarinet and trained for competetive ballroom dancing during her highschool years. In 2018 she launched a YouTube video series titled “I think the actors are drunk” where she and a different guest in each episode review and reenact a personally selected film scene – drunk.

In addition to her passion for all aspects of filmmaking (which caused her to launch her own film production company AVA – All Visions Align in 2017) Marei quotes video games as “her only hobby”.

Marei’s favorite actresses who serve as constant inspiration and “guides” on her path to improving her own skills each and every day are Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Claudia Black (Farscape, Stargate SG1), Allison Janney (Mom, The Westwing), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) and Ava Gardner (The Barefoot Contessa, On The Beach).
